Meteor Crater

The Meteor Crater, located 20 miles west of Winslow, is known as the best preserved meteorite crater in the world. It's astonishing to know that the impact was from an piece of an asteroid traveling at 26,000 miles per hour roughly 50,000 years ago. It measures 2.4 miles across and more than 550 feet deep.

It's a must-see attraction while traveling in Northern Arizona. You can view the crater from indoors or outside along the trails. There is also an on-site interactive discover center, a gift shop and Astronaut Memorial Park at the Visitor Center.
