Founded in 1885, Arizona State University is one of Arizona's three major universities. Originally named the Tempe Normal School, ASU is located in Tempe, a charming city just east of Phoenix. ASU now boasts one of the largest enrollments of the public universities in the United States, and fields competitive athletic teams in all the major sports. Known as the ASU Sun Devils, teams compete in the Pac-12 conference.
During the winter and spring months, head to Packard Stadium and take in a college baseball game. From September through December, college football fans visiting Tempe are sure to visit Sun Devil Stadium, home to the Sun Devils football team.
