Heard Museum

The Heard Museum is known as one of the “world's finest destinations for learning" and one of the first cultural attractions in Phoenix. Founded in 1929, there are two locations in Phoenix, displaying American Indian Arts and exhibits on American Indian cultures. These “living museums” are recognized world-wide, for the quality of collections on display.

Both locations have a Cafe and a wonderful Museum shop with authentic artwork, jewelry, pottery, paintings, sculpture and weavings for purchase. With 10 exhibition galleries in the central Phoenix Museum and two galleries in the North Scottsdale Museum, visitors can spend all day admiring the displays. Best Western offers three convenient locations in Phoenix and several more in Central Arizona for convenient lodging choices.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located in Scottsdale, is the spring training home to both the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies baseball teams. The facility is the first of its kind to be built on Indian land in the country. The teams are partners with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

This stadium and sports complex includes a ballpark stadium with a capacity for 11,000 fans, twelve practice fields, clubhouses for the Major and Minor League teams and team offices. Enjoy cheering on your favorite team as you gaze at the incredible views of the McDowell Mountains, Superstition Mountains, Four Peaks Mountains and Camelback Mountain, surrounding the Phoenix valley. After a day at the ballpark, choose a Best Western guest room for a comfortable night's rest.

Scottsdale Stadium

Scottsdale Stadium is home to the San Francisco Giants Spring Training games. Located in Old Town Scottsdale, the stadium is within walking distance to several area shops, restaurants and galleries. A variety of year-round events are also held at the stadium, including the Starlight Sleepover, weddings, company picnics, parties and baseball tournaments and camps.

Action during the Arizona Fall League includes games played by the Scottsdale Scorpions verses a variety of minor league teams. The expanded clubhouse, baseball training room and batting tunnel are wonderful amenities for the players. Schedule time during the game to visit the stadium's Arizona Fall League Hall of Fame. Stand Up Scottsdale

As one of Arizona's the premier comedy clubs, Stand Up Scottsdale is a great destination for central Arizona travelers looking for a fun night out. Set just minutes from downtown Scottsdale, and a quick drive from Phoenix, Stand Up Scottsdale has featured top comics like Darren Carter, and Rachel Feinstein. Wednesday nights are open mic nights – show up early, sign up and give it a go. Friday and Saturday nights are the main shows at Stand Up Scottsdale.

There's plenty to see and do in Scottsdale. After an afternoon of golf at Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club, and an evening touring Taliesin West, the personal home and studio of Frank Lloyd Wright, finish off the night with some laughs and Stand Up Scottsdale.

Taliesin West

Taliesin West began as a personal home and studio for Frank Lloyd Wright in 1937. Today, a variety of tours are offered to see first-hand, how Wright incorporated the desert with indoor spaces and his philosophies and theory of design. Educational programs continue today through the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation's programs.

Depending on the tour, you can see the terraces, gardens and walkways that link together the Cabaret Theater, Music Pavilion and Wright's office. Or, view the newly restored living space, the Garden Room and sit in the Wright-designed furniture. Taliesin West is located in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale. Stay close to Phoenix area attractions, events, restaurants and shopping as a guest of Best Western hotels.
