From: The south. Take Highway 89 Northbound to "The Gap" turn right onto 89T, this will bring you directly into Page, AZ. At the stoplight of Coppermine Road & Lake Powell Boulevard turn right. Antelope Canyon

Many wonderful natural formations often appear hidden from view. Antelope Canyon, located east of Page, remains one of the more popular northern Arizona attractions for photographers and nature-lovers. This beautiful quarter-mile-long canyon was created from wind and water, over thousands of years. A young Navajo girl first discovered this magnificent canyon in 1931.

The canyon reaches a depth of 130 feet and is accessible by hiking along a three-and-a-half mile wash. Photographers love to capture the colors from the sunlight gleaming into this incredible, natural canyon. Since Antelope Canyon is on the Navajo Reservation, visitors wanting to see it, must travel with a licensed tour guide. Antelope Point Marina

Found in northern Arizona, Antelope Point Marina is a busy, summer travel destination. Perfect for boaters and jet skiers, Antelope Point Marina is set along Lake Powell, just north of Page. Visit with your boat and explore Lake Powell – Antelope Point features valet boat launching, a boat fueling station, and even boat rentals.

Carl Hayden Visitor Center

Plan your next northern Arizona adventure and be sure to visit the Carl Hayden Visitor Center at Glen Canyon Dam. The summer hours of operation at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center are, roughly, mid-May through mid-September, with winter hours firmly set at November through February. It's closed on major holidays.

Make the short drive in from Page and explore the Carl Hayden Visitor Center where you'll find stunning views of Glen Canyon Dam, and they offer tours of the dam – call ahead and reserve a spot. The guided tours of Glen Canyon Dam generally take around 45 minutes. The Carl Hayden Visitor Center was completed in 1963.

Glen Canyon Dam

Opened in 1966, the Glen Canyon Dam is a monument to technology and architectural progress in northern Arizona. As you travel to the charming city of Page, you'll want to visit the massive dam – it reaches a max height of 710 feet, a length of 1,560 feet, and has a dam volume of 5,370,000 cubic yards. 

Many Glen Canyon Dam visitors also head for the Glen Canyon Recreation Area – be one of the nearly two million annual visitors. You can have some fun at Lee's Ferry, the Antelope Point Marina, the Bullfrog Marina, or the Rainbow Bridge National Monument.

Although beautiful in a picture, the amazing red rocks surrounding Lake Powell are much more vivid in person. While in picturesque Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, schedule plenty of time to see Horseshoe Bend.

This section of the San Marcos River is located four miles south of Page, off of Highway 89 and approximately five miles south of Glen Canyon Dam. Its name is derived from the natural horseshoe-shaped bend of the river.

Enjoy the 3/4-mile stroll on the trail, to the edge of the cliff for viewing this magnificent natural wonder. Be sure to bring your camera and a wide lens, to capture the entire bend in the frame.

The edge of the cliff is at an elevation of 4,200 feet, with the river about 1,000 feet below it. This incredible viewpoint is one not-to-miss. 

John Wesley Powell Museum

Browse through the John Wesley Powell Museum in Page to see photos, sketches and memorabilia of John Wesley Powell's voyages on the Colorado River from 1869 and 1871. You'll also find a wonderful collection of Native American artifacts on display - as well as the history of Page, and films of the construction of Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam.

Launch Your Boat Onto Lake Powell

A beautiful treasure awaits visitors in Page, Arizona. Incredible Lake Powell was created when the Glen Canyon Dam was built in 1966, for hydroelectricity. This magnificent lake, featuring 1,960 miles of shoreline, is the second-largest man-make lake in the country, behind Lake Mead, Nevada.

The lake is named after John Wesley Powell, an American Civil War Veteran who explored the Colorado River in 1869. While in Page, take time to stroll through the John Wesley Powell Museum to learn more about this American West explorer.

When Lake Powell is full, it holds 24,000,000 acre feet of water and spans 254 square miles, across Northern Arizona and Southern Utah.

Recreational enthusiasts love spending time on the lake. Favorite water sports on the lake include boating, jet-skiing, water-skiing, swimming, fishing and tubing.

A must-see Lake Powell attraction is Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Be sure to beach the boat along the shore and hike up to see this amazing sandstone arch.
