East Phoenix Activities
Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa & Beyond
Lost Dutchman State Park
Golfer? Don’t miss sunny courses like the Apache Creek Golf Club in Apache Junction, Superstition Springs Golf Club in Mesa, and the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club – one of many first-class courses in the area.
For architecture buffs, don’t miss Taliesin West – the stunning former home of Frank Lloyd Wright. Traveling with kids? Let them loose at the Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse – featuring Old West shows, petting zoos, rides, and great food.
Tempe is best known as the home base for Arizona State University. Visitors, enjoy a campus tour of ASU, browse the bars and restaurants of the famed Mill Avenue, or look forward to a stroll along Tempe Town Lake. Sports fans can take in a football game at Sun Devil Stadium, and grab a post-game drink at Casey Moore's Oyster House.
Many outdoor activities are found in the east valley as well. Hike to the top of Camelback Mountain for a panoramic view of the Phoenix metropolitan area, or head to Apache Junction for a trek along the Apache Trail. But don’t go too far – the Lost Dutchman State Park is a scenic playground also found in Apache Junction.
You’ll come to east Phoenix for the shopping at Scottsdale Fashion Square, or the maroon and gold crowds at Sun Devil Stadium, but you’ll stay for the golf, museums, and outdoor activities of the east valley.
