University of Arizona Wildcats
Visit Southern Arizona & the UA Campus
Tucson is set in the heart of southern Arizona and is home to the University of Arizona. Established in 1885, U of A is a public research university nationally known for the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and the well respected Wildcats athletics program.
Visit the University of Arizona campus and explore Krutch Garden, part of the university’s arboretum featuring Arizona’s tallest Boojum Tree.
The campus of U of A is also home to the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre, which opened in 2003. This theatre is dedicated for the use of the University of Arizona Dance Program.
Athletically, the Arizona Wildcats compete in the Pac-12 Conference, and have well-regarded programs in basketball, baseball, softball, and swimming, with a football program on the rise. During the winter and early spring, visit the McKale Center for all the high intensity action of Wildcats basketball.
Students commute in from nearby cities like Benson, and Green Valley. When traveling through Tucson and southern Arizona, or after a day of exploring the University of Arizona camp, check into a nearby Best Western hotel in Tucson.
