Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area
Found in the growing southern Arizona community of Yuma, the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area is dedicated to restoring and preserving the region’s natural wetlands found along the Colorado River. Although the heritage area is a restoration project, it still draws in many visitors for its abundance of scenery and outdoor recreation.
The region can be explored via three-mile hiking trail cutting through the Yuma East Wetlands, beginning at Gateway Park. The heritage area neighbors Downtown Riverfront District as well, effectively weaving historic urban charm with a natural oasis of agriculture found along the riverbanks.
