Petrified Forest National Park
Few sites are as unique to Arizona as the Petrified Forest National Park. Located in northeastern Arizona, it contains a wonderful collection of fallen tree fossils that lived in the Late Triassic period, around 225 million years ago. Other fossils in the park include plants, reptiles, amphibians and early dinosaurs. Petroglyphs have also been discovered in the park.
There are seven hiking trails in the park for sightseeing and admiring the beautiful Chinle Formations. Drive a short distance to Holbrook to find convenient, top-notch fun. Stay close to the park, allowing for time to see it all. Enjoy exploring the land and learning about the history of the Grand Canyon State.
